Ministries

ministriesThere is nothing small in the service of God… — Frances de Sales

Unity of Kanawha Valley offers many ways to serve and, in doing so, grow spiritually and socially!

Here are some of our volunteer ministries:

Bea’s Beautiful Butterfly Garden
Unity of Kanawha Valley has a special garden designed specifically for butterflies. Bea’s Butterfly Garden was designed in memory for Stacy Angel’s sweet pup, Bea. The pollinating butterfly garden has evenly dispersed plants that maximize visual interplay between plants while taking advantage of the self-seeding capacity of each plant.

Music Ministry
Musicians Ron Sowell and Jeff Haught bring outstanding abilities to our music program, and we often feature talented guest musicians. Under the well-known musician Ron Sowell, music drawn from personally written songs, popular top 10 charts and even ‘old time church’ are played every Sunday.

Prayer
At Unity of Kenawha Valley, we use affirmative prayer. Rather than begging God, we connect with the God spirit within and assert positive beliefs about the desired outcome. For example, instead of saying, “God please find a house for me,” we say, “I am guided to find a comfortable and safe home that I can financially afford.”

Jesus was teaching affirmative prayer when he said, “So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

Prayer Requests
If you or a loved one is in need of prayer, please use our online form to submit your request. We hold all requests in strict confidence. If you would like for someone to contact you, please include that information in your submission.

Prayer Chaplains
The Prayer Chaplain Program is a unique sacred service program offered to the congregation. Each Sunday following the services, trained prayer chaplains are available to pray with anyone in need.

Weddings & More
Weddings, Christenings, Memorial Services, and Home, Office and Pet Blessings and more… all are among the ways we can support you in your desire to recognize and celebrate the spiritual dimensions of the passages in your life and the lives of your loved ones.
