Unity of Kanawha Valley has a special garden designed specifically for butterflies. Bea’s Butterfly Garden was designed in memory for Stacy Angel’s sweet pup, Bea. The pollinating butterfly garden has evenly dispersed plants that maximize visual interplay between plants while taking advantage of the self-seeding capacity of each plant. Carefully selected plants provide nectar sources, shelter and host plants that promote the full cycle of a butterfly. Our special garden has been recognized, certified and registered by Monarch Watch as a Monarch Waystation. Bea’s garden is also associated with the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail.
